The University of the West Indies (UWI) has selected Tiffany A. C. Smith, a third year student at Mona, Jamaica campus, to receive Mill Reef Fund’s Education Grant for this school year.
The US$8,000 grant, which approximates the cost of tuition and board for one year, is given to an Antiguan student who has demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and good citizenship.
Miss Smith, 22, is from St. George’s Parish. She attended Sunnyside Tutorial and graduated from Antigua Girls High School where she excelled academically and in extracurricular activities. Before going to UWI, Miss Smith spent three years at Antigua State College, where she graduated with honours.
At UWI, she is a Psychology major and has earned a place on the Dean’s List with a cumulative GPA of 3.6. Miss Smith expects to graduate in November 2016.
The first recipient was Miss Sashagay Middleton who has completed her course work at Cave Hill, Barbados campus and has received her diploma.
